Lenovo ThinkPad T480 - i5 8th Gen, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD

Between this and the i7 T480 listed above, most people should buy this one. The memory and the storage are identical at sixteen gigabytes and 512GB, the chassis and keyboard are the same, and the difference is a quad-core i5 rather than a quad-core i7. In real work, which is to say a browser, an office suite, a video call and a couple of background applications, that gap is small and the saving is not. Condition is very good with light handling marks and no dents, a clean matte panel throughout, a responsive TrackPoint and strong health readings on both batteries. Everything was tested and everything worked. The upgrade paths are the same too, so more memory or a second drive can go in later. We say this to almost everyone who comes into the shop asking about ThinkPads in Udaipur: buy the memory, not the processor badge, and put the difference towards storage or a better screen. The matte screen is worth a mention on its own. Under the tube lights most offices here use, it stays readable where a glossy panel turns into a mirror.
