Lenovo ThinkPad E14 - i5 11th Gen, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD

Look at what this costs before you look at what is in it. An 11th generation Core i5 with Iris Xe graphics and a 512GB NVMe drive, under thirty thousand, in a ThinkPad with a backlit keyboard that has not been worn. The memory is 8GB rather than sixteen, which is the one place it gives ground to the T14 above, and it is on a socket so it can be doubled later without replacing anything. Everything else here is current: fast storage, modern graphics, USB-C charging, a bright clean panel with no marks found in testing. Battery health came back high against a low cycle count. The body is very clean with only a small mark on the base. For a freelancer, a student on a serious course, or a small business buying one good machine rather than two cheap ones, this is probably the best value on the whole page, and we would say the same to your face at the counter. Storage is generous rather than tight here, so unlike most of the machines on this page you will not be shopping for an external drive in six weeks. That is worth something.
