HP EliteBook 840 G6 - i5 8th Gen, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD

The EliteBook 840 is the most requested machine in this shop and this is a clean example of one. Aluminium body, a keyboard that most people prefer to anything else in the price range, and a 14-inch panel that stays readable near a window. The specification is an 8th generation Core i5 with 8GB of memory and a 256GB NVMe drive. That is enough for documents, browsing, video calls, accounting software and light photo work run together. We put it through a full white and black screen check and found no marks or dead pixels. The backlit keys have no shine on them at all, which on a machine of this age is unusual and is the clearest sign of how little it was used. Cycle count came back low and battery health high, so it will genuinely work away from a socket. USB-C, both USB-A ports, HDMI and the full-size ethernet socket were tested against real hardware, along with the webcam shutter and the fingerprint reader. If you want one machine that does everything reasonably and nothing badly, start here. Every laptop is tested before sale and this one had nothing to fix.
