HP 15s - Ryzen 5 5500U, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD

The most processor per rupee on this page. A Ryzen 5 5500U has six cores and twelve threads, which on paper puts it ahead of several of the Intel i5 machines listed here that cost more, and in practice it handles multitasking noticeably well for the money. It comes here with 8GB and a 512GB SSD in a plain plastic 15.6-inch body with a number pad. That body is the honest catch. It flexes, it is not built like an EliteBook, and it picks up marks, of which this one has a few, though there are no cracks. The panel has one faint mark at the top right. Everything works and every port was tested including HDMI. Battery backup is fair for this size. Buyers who want raw capability at the lowest price, and who will keep the machine on a desk where the build quality matters less, tend to be very happy with these. Buyers who want something that feels solid in the hand should look at the business units instead. Compare it directly against the Intel machines near this price when you visit the shop in Udaipur. The difference in feel between them is smaller than the difference in build quality.
