Asus ExpertBook B1400 - i5 11th Gen, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD

Asus does make a proper business laptop and this is it. The ExpertBook B1400 weighs about one and a half kilograms, which is unremarkable, but it has a full-size ethernet socket and a VGA output, both of which we tested, because it was built for offices and classrooms that have not replaced their projectors. Inside is an 11th generation Core i5 with Iris Xe graphics, 8GB of memory and a 512GB NVMe drive. The matte panel is clean with no marks, the backlit keyboard is unworn and the chassis is in excellent order, with a low cycle count and a high battery health reading. Being less common than a Dell or an HP, these tend to sit on the shelf longer and are priced a little more keenly as a result, which is good news if you do not care about the badge. Ideal for a teacher, a consultant, or anyone carrying a laptop between places every day. Spare parts and service for Asus business machines are less common locally than for Dell or HP, which is a genuine consideration and part of why the price sits where it does.
